Arianna D’Angelo MD - Consultant Gynaecologist and Fertility Specialist
PROFILE
Dr D'Angelo graduated in Medicine and gained her MD at the University School of Medicine of Palermo (Italy) in 1996. After her general training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University Hospital of Palermo she moved to the UK.
Between 1999 and 2000 she attended Cardiff Assisted Reproduction Unit as Honorary Clinical Assistant and was appointed as Research Fellow for the following three years.
In 2004, she was appointed as Consultant in Reproductive Medicine at SISMeR, Reproductive Unit, Bologna (Italy). In 2005 she joined the team at the Isis Fertility Centre in Colchester as Fertility Specialist.
The Isis Fertility Centre was recently quoted as one of the UK's best according to the HFEA table league.
Currently Dr D'Angelo works as Consultant within the Assisted Reproduction Unit (IVF Wales) at Heath Hospital, Cardiff and as Clinical Lecturer at Cardiff University.
Dr D'Angelo has been a member of the European Society of Human Reproduction & Embryology (ESHRE) since 2000 and also the Cochrane Menstrual Disorders and Subfertility Group since 1999. She is author of several international publications on evidence-based medicine; speaker at international conferences and peer-reviewer for journals in the field of Reproductive Medicine.
ULTRASOUND
- Assessment and screening of female pelvic organs.
- Diagnosis of gynaecological problems.
- Early pregnancy assessment.
- Screening for ovarian cancer in pre/post menopausal women.
GENERAL GYNAECOLOGY
- Basic consultation including breast check.
- Smear test.
- Microbiological screening test.
- Pipelle endometrial biopsy.
FERTILITY
- Management of sub fertile couple, recurrent implantation failure and recurrent miscarraige.
- Basic investigations.
- First level treatments including non medically-assisted procedures and advice, ovulation induction and monitoring of ovulation for timed intercourse.
- Counselling on first and second level treatments including Intrauterine Insemination (IUI), In-vitro Fertilization (IVF), Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI), Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET), Assisted Hatching (AH), Blastocyst Transfer, Oocytes and Sperm Freezing, Donor treatments and Surrogacy, Pre-implantation Genetic Diagnosis (PGD), recurrent miscarriage and repetitive implantation failure.
